The Length to Width ratio of the Marquise Shape is a highly valuable piece of information that indicates how plump or thick the piece is, or how thin its overall appearance will be. Generally speaking, you want the length to width ratio to be close to the 2.00 range. To simplify it, more often than not you want the length to be close to double its width.
